FARMHOUSE RENOVATIONS

2019-2024

Over several years, DBC has completed renovations in multiple areas of the home.  DBC began work in the basement on custom built-ins, including a design-build wine cellar specific to the collection and needs of the homeowners.  Master bath renovations included more custom built-ins.

The large kitchen remodel greatly increased the functionality while retaining the charm of the original farmhouse kitchen.   A large island allowed for an increase in work space, storage, and eating space.  Reclaimed lumber and locally-sourced soapstone maintained the look of the original space.  DBC worked with the owners to design their perfect cabinetry system for both the kitchen and large pantry.  Work on the mudroom and laundry room also increased functionality and accessibility from rooms and porches with varying floor levels.  On the outside, custom-milled period wood siding replaced the aging siding from the original build and a new entryway improved the flow of the home.

A former garage became a customized haven with a sauna and versatile extra living space, with room for yoga, relaxing, and plenty of light for making art.  Custom spiral stairs climb to a loft with a quieter space for guests.
